Date Night

Remember when you were young and really dating? My girlfriends and I would try to come up with creative ideas for dates and surprise "him".... dinner by the airport runway, climbing Squaw Peak (back when "Squaw" was ok to say), jumping the apartment complex fence to sit in their hot tub, mystery menus, camping (ooops...did we have a chaperon?) etc.

Somehow that disappeared during 12 years of marriage. And I want that back.

So we got In and Out burgers and headed to the Marina of Tempe Town Lake. We found a shaded spot of grass and threw down our blanket. We played Scrabble while the sun set and until we couldn't see the tiles through the darkness.
Maybe that's not as exciting as other grand ideas of our youth, but it was romantic and it was "us" ! And I like it!
