Exploring Arizona

It's Spring Break so we decided to go exploring with Grandma.
I have lived my whole life in Arizona but still have places to go and things to see.
So we went to Tortilla Flat, past Canyon Lake.

This place use to be a stage coach stop way back in the day.
There is a ice cream parlor, restaurant and mercantile shop.
Perfect tourist attraction for the seniors.
The walls of the restaurant are covered with dollar bills. Customers from all over the world stop by, write on their $$ and donate to the wall covering. The girls enjoyed looking at the states and dates. They also had great burgers.
Meetin' in the ladies room - makes you feel like a real saloon gal!
These were the stall doors.
Then we drove on a dirt road for about an hour to Roosevelt Lake.
Their we found some old indian cliff dwellings.

It was a short walk up a paved trail to the amazing remnants of the Salado people in the Tonto basin area.
The girls seemed interested in how and why the indian people made this place their home.
Truly amazing and a wonderful way to teach our children. I was glad we went.

That was a fun and beautiful day to spend with you and the girls. You're right on the "senior" attraction, especially the drivers on the dirt road in their pick-ups going 10 miles and hour.
