Deer Season

Ryan shot her first deer! She is ten yrs. old and this was her first year eligible for a hunting tag. Ryan said she was "coming back with a deer! even if it's a spike- I'm getting something!" She is a determined and energetic girl!

Bill took Ryan to her area and they hunted and hiked hard! They saw lots of quail, several javelina and ate prickly pear cactus. But no deer. On the second day, Ryan saw two does run across the road then she spotted a third deer. As they looked closer they noticed it was a buck. They jumped out of the truck and got in position. Ryan says she was totally focused on the deer when she pulled the trigger. She said she didn't hear the shot or feel the kick of her new rifle. She just watched the deer go down. Good shot Ryan! Ryan is so excited to hang the antlers in her bedroom!

Bill said that Ryan was a great hunter. She hiked up some steep terrain that grown men would have balked at. She never complained once! Ryan loves the great outdoors and enjoys being with her Dad! Hopefully, this is the first of many hunts together.
