Mmmmm.....Peaches!

Schnepf Farms Peach Festival
May 15 - 17, 2009

This morning brought anticipation for fresh....juicy....mmmm....peaches!
Schnepf Farms is right down the road from us and has been around since the early 1900's. It is a family run farm with the flair and authenticity of the good ole days.

We showed up as the doors opened and hopped straight in line for the pancake and peaches breakfast! We were NOT disappointed and did NOT leave hungry! Sitting on picnic tables in the shade on a sunny May morning.....heaven on earth.

Yes, the plate on the right holds two, giant, cooked on the fire griddle pancakes. The rest of our tray held sausage, fresh squeezed orange juice and of coarse peaches for the top. Whipped cream? Who had room for whipped cream.

Next, we took the tractor pulled hay ride over to the orchards and picked our own peaches to take home.

The girls had so much fun gently squeezing, smelling and picking for themselves. And of coarse we had to sample along the way.

Just to make sure they were perfect!

The farm also offered pony rides, playgrounds, bales of hay to climb and rest your weary, peachy self on. The girls found the John Deere (bad word) tricycles through the hay maze.

One completed lap and one unfortunate crash.

We are looking forward to eating our peaches. Anyone have a great peach recipe to share?

Next up, Pumpkin Festival in the fall!
